We selected this photo gallery of real people with real disabilities to affirm that disability, including mental health disabilities, is an intrinsic part of one's identity. We advocate using accommodations, self-advocacy, and support as tools to thrive in a galaxy that is not set up for us rather than treat disability as a condition to be "cured" or "fixed". Our goal is to showcase disability as intersectional and a natural part of the various facets of identity such as ethnicity, class, age, sexual orientation, gender identification, religion, and culture. By doing so, we empower and highlight voices traditionally underrepresented, challenging and dismantling stereotypes. This collection embodies the themes of CONNECTION, DYNAMISM, DIGNITY, DIVERSITY, EMOTION, EVERYDAY EXPERIENCES, AUTHENTICITY, and HUMANITY which are part of our core values at NeuroDivergent Galaxy.
