We selected this photo gallery of real people with real disabilities to affirm that disability, including mental health disabilities, is an intrinsic part of one's identity. We advocate using accommodations, self-advocacy, and support as tools to thrive in a galaxy that is not set up for us rather than treat disability as a condition to be "cured" or "fixed". Our goal is to showcase disability as intersectional and a natural part of the various facets of identity such as ethnicity, class, age, sexual orientation, gender identification, religion, and culture.
